6 tonne thwaites dumpers that had broken down way west of there depot! We quickly mobilised over night and arrived on site first thing the following morning. Arrived on site and quickly dived into action and started giving the machine an onsite inspection firstly checking over the reported issues. Upon completing the inspection we found the fuel filters to be contaminated and the tip/swivel pipes to be burst due to rubbing along the chassis somewhere.
The pipework was removed and taken to the nearby hose merchant, re-made, and returned to the site. The pipes were re-installed, hydraulic oil was refilled, and it awaited testing. The next task was to thoroughly clean the fuel system and inspect the inside of the fuel tank. We informed the customer that the fuel tank would need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned due to years of improper fuel use once the machine is off-site. New genuine fuel filters were installed, and the machine's fuel system was re-bled. The machine was started, hydraulics tested, levels checked, and it was immediately put back to work.
